OpenAI has added new features to the WhatsApp version of ChatGPT, allowing users to interact with the chatbot using image and voice inputs. Previously limited to text-based interactions, the updated system can now understand voice queries and analyze images.
ChatGPT Gains Image and Voice Input Support on WhatsApp
This update enables users to engage with ChatGPT in a more natural and effective way. ChatGPT can be accessed via WhatsApp using the number 1-800-242-8478, and these new features further expand its capabilities.

Beyond image and voice inputs, OpenAI has also introduced a tool called “Deep Research.” This tool performs in-depth analyses for complex tasks and generates comprehensive reports.
Deep Research scans and synthesizes data from hundreds of online sources, utilizing a specialized “o3” model optimized for processing large amounts of text, images, and PDF files. Initially available to ChatGPT Pro subscribers, it will later be extended to Plus and Team users. OpenAI views this technology as a significant step toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).
OpenAI is also developing a new system called “Operator,” designed to help users perform tasks on websites. Operator can analyze elements on a webpage, click buttons, enter text, and scroll through pages using written commands.
For example, users can book a restaurant reservation or find a hotel with ease using Operator. The system can self-correct errors and transfer control to users when handling sensitive information. Currently in preview mode, this feature is first available to Pro users in the U.S., with plans for broader rollout in the future.
With the addition of image and voice support, ChatGPT is enhancing user experience, making interactions more seamless—especially through WhatsApp. Meanwhile, Deep Research and Operator provide a powerful foundation for handling complex and professional tasks.
