China-based automotive manufacturer Chery achieved the fastest growth in its history with sales figures in the first half of 2025, while also maintaining its position as China’s largest automobile exporter. The company sold a total of 1,260,124 vehicles in the first six months of the year and broke the 1 million vehicle milestone in just five months, setting a record sales record.
Chery continues to break export records
With global sales of 233,607 units in June, Chery achieved 16.6 percent growth compared to the same period last year. This momentum demonstrates the brand’s continued steady growth throughout 2025. Total sales in the first half represent a 14.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Overseas sales performance also solidified the company’s global position. Exporting a total of 550,270 vehicles to overseas markets between January and June, Chery maintained its leadership position in this sector. The company has managed to maintain its top spot in the Chinese automotive industry in terms of exports.
Growth in the new energy vehicle segment, in particular, has become a decisive factor in Chery’s 2025 strategy. The company’s in-house developed Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) technology contributed to a 98.6 percent year-over-year increase in this segment. This result demonstrates Chery’s rise to leadership in the hybrid and electric vehicle market in terms of both sales volume and growth rate.
The Turkish market presents a complex picture for Chery. The company’s affordable SUV models quickly gained significant market share. However, sales momentum sharply declined following the imposition of a 50 percent additional customs duty on Chinese-made vehicles.
Despite previously public rumors about a potential production facility in Samsun, the company has not made an official statement on the matter. Currently, there are no investment plans in this direction.
