Chery Group became the first automaker in Chinese automotive history to surpass 5 million vehicle exports. The company increased its global user base to 17.18 million, with more than 5.17 million of these being customers abroad.
Chery achieves export record in China
Chery sold 224,439 vehicles in July, achieving 14.7 percent growth compared to the same period last year. Sales in the new-energy vehicle segment also saw a 44.1 percent increase of 65,357 units.

Chery also achieved significant export success. Exporting 119,090 vehicles in July, the company maintained its position as China’s largest automobile exporter with a 31.9 percent increase. The top destinations for China’s automobile exports in the first half of 2025 were Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, and Russia.
234,500 vehicles were shipped to Mexico, representing a 30.7 percent increase in exports. Exports to the UAE increased by 58.5 percent to 214,300 units. Exports to Russia decreased by 59.2 percent to 171,000 units.
BYD also made rapid progress in exports during this period. By increasing its exports by 118 percent in the first half of 2025, BYD fell approximately 100,000 units short of Chery. Export competition between Chery and BYD is expected to intensify in the final quarter of the year.
These achievements by the Chery Group demonstrate the growing power and influence of the Chinese automotive sector in global markets. The company’s growth in new-energy vehicles, in particular, demonstrates the rising demand for electric and hybrid technologies.
Furthermore, the diversified market strategies and growing customer base in export countries confirm the global acceptance of Chinese automobile brands. These developments clearly demonstrate that Chinese automotive manufacturers have become competitive not only in the domestic market but also in the international arena.
