Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery continues its steady rise with sales data for the first five months of 2025. The company sold a total of 205,732 vehicles in May, achieving a growth of 9.1% compared to the same period last year.
Chery had a very good start to 2025
During the same period, sales in the new energy vehicle (NEV) category reached 63,169 units, increasing by 47.7%. This increase is considered a concrete reflection of the importance the brand attaches to energy transformation in the field.

When we look at the January-May period, Chery Group sold a total of 1,026,517 vehicles. This means a growth of 14% compared to the same period last year and brought the company to the 1 million sales threshold in the fastest way ever.
In the same period, new energy vehicle sales reached 287,798 units, achieving a remarkable increase rate of 111.5%. This performance shows that Chery has more than doubled its growth in the NEV market.
The company’s momentum continues on the export side. Chery, which exported 100,737 vehicles in May, maintained its leadership in this field with an export increase of 7.7%. Total exports reached 443,940 units in the first five months of the year, keeping Chery as China’s largest automobile exporter.
The company has not only limited itself to the domestic market, but has also taken steps to strengthen its presence in Europe. Chery, which does not only focus on product exports in Europe, also aims for long-term growth with its technology adaptations and localization policy in after-sales services.
