Chery, which has recently been on the agenda with its sales in Turkey, announced that pre-orders for its new generation flagship plug-in hybrid model Fulwin A9L will start on June 25. The official launch of the model will take place in China at the beginning of July.
The vehicle, which was previously previewed as Fulwin A9, will now be released under the name A9L. It will compete directly with strong rivals such as BYD Han DM-i and Geely Galaxy Starshine 8 PHEV in the mid-upper class sedan market.
2000 km range hybrid sedan Chery A9L features and price
Fulwin A9L draws attention with its aerodynamic fastback design. The body, which has a drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd, is shaped with a closed grille and a full-width LED light strip at the front. At the rear, there are integrated LED stop lamps, a black lower bumper enriched with silver details and a wide active rear spoiler.

The door handles have a semi-hidden design and include a mechanical backup system. The vehicle is 5018 mm long, 1965 mm wide, 1500 mm high and 3000 mm wheelbase. 20-inch multi-spoke wheels provide a strong stance on the road.
Chery’s Kunpeng Super Hybrid Electric 6.0 system is used on the engine side. The 1.5-liter turbo engine produces 160 kW power and 310 Nm torque. This system is supported by a 33.7 kWh capacity Kunpeng Blade lithium iron phosphate battery.
While a range of 260 kilometers is offered in electric mode only, the total range with a fully charged battery and fuel tank reaches approximately 2,000 kilometers. Power transmission is provided by a stepless DHT Pro transmission.

Suede-looking coating, chrome details and machined metal buttons are used in the interior. The cabin is offered in two different color combinations: black-red or brown-white. Thanks to the long wheelbase and double glass roof design, knee and headroom for rear passengers are quite wide.
The seats are supported by a double-layered foam structure, while the extended cushion section increases knee support. The center armrest is also standard. Fulwin A9L’s infotainment system works with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8255 chip. Driving assistance systems are provided with 27 different sensors.

This equipment includes Lidar, millimeter wave radars, surround view cameras, panoramic cameras and ultrasonic radars. The sensors work with NVIDIA’s Orin Y 200T processor, allowing the vehicle to have memory parking, highway and city automatic driving (NOA), collision avoidance and lane change features with blind spot warning. Some equipment levels will also include versions without Lidar and only with the L2 driving assistance system.
The A9L was first exhibited at the Hong Kong International Automotive and Supply Chain Show on June 12. The majority of the visitors were young men with an affinity for technology. The model will be sold at a price between 150,000 and 200,000 yuan (approximately $20,700 to $27,600).
Speaking at the fair, Chery Chairman Yin Tongyue said the company is preparing to become the first Chinese automaker to export more than 5 million vehicles. This statement reflects Chery’s growth momentum in the global market, and it was also confirmed that the Fulwin A9L’s global launch will take place in the first quarter of 2026.
Chery executives also stated that most of the proceeds from the planned IPO will be directed to new energy vehicle R&D and growth in overseas markets. This shows us the brand’s determination to continue its technology-focused long-term growth strategy.
