China-based technology company GPD has introduced the WIN 5, touted as the most powerful portable gaming console. According to the company, this new model uses AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor and delivers desktop-level performance in a mobile form factor.

The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor featured in WIN 5 is built on AMD’s Zen 5 architecture. This APU, featuring 16 cores and 32 threads, boasts clock speeds of up to 5.1 GHz and 64 MB of L3 cache.

The device’s graphics feature a 40-compute-unit Radeon 8060S integrated GPU. The company claims this GPU is competitive with entry-level cards from NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 40 series.
GPD also shared initial test results of the new console’s performance. In these tests, the WIN 5 was found to be able to run Black Myth: Wukong at over 200 FPS. While the graphics settings were not disclosed, the shared results provide important insights into the device’s graphics and processing power.
Full technical details of the device will be revealed at the ChinaJoy 2025 trade fair on August 1, 2025. The WIN 5’s price and release date will also be announced at the same event. GPD, previously primarily involved in the mini PC market, has taken a new step with its focus on high-performance portable game consoles with the WIN 5.
