The Land Aircraft Carrier, which can carry two passengers on a three-axle platform, is a project that has been in the works for years. The vehicle features an internal combustion engine that acts as a generator to power the battery and electric motors. The EREV-type model is said to offer a range of up to 1000 km.
Xpeng AeroHT, the company’s flying car division, unveiled the Land Aircraft Carrier in China for the first time in recent months and made its maiden flight. The reactions were very positive and the company announced that it received more than 2,000 orders for the vehicle.
“The Black Aircraft Carrier is a bold and innovative step in the world of transportation. We are excited to showcase this cutting-edge technology to the world at CES 2025 and believe it has the potential to redefine the way we think about mobility,” said He Xiaopeng, CEO of Xpeng.
The Land Aircraft Carrier can take off for up to 5-6 flights on a single charge and can be separated at the push of a button. Thanks to its 800V high-voltage system, the vehicle can take off in just 18 minutes.
