Microlino AG, the Swiss company, continues to prioritize the Geneva Motor Show despite its diminished prominence. Among the European car manufacturers that still value the show, Microlino AG has introduced the Microlino Lite model, which stands out with features similar to the Citroen Ami.
Features and Price of Citroen Ami Rival Microlino Lite
As an important competitor to Citroen Ami, Microlino introduced the Lite model, priced lower to compete with the Ami. Designed for driving without a license according to the L6e standard, the Lite model has a lower speed compared to the initial version of Microlino. Accordingly, the Microlino Lite, like the Citroen Ami, has a speed of 45 km/h.
The Microlino Lite model, with its BMW Isetta-style design, features a front-opening door like its previous version. The two-seater car surpasses its rival, the Citroen Ami, in terms of range. The model comes with two separate battery options: 5.5 kW and 11 kW power. However, the standout feature among the Microlino Lite specifications is its high range. Even with a low battery capacity, the vehicle offers a range of 100 km. In the 11 kW model, this range reaches 177 km, whereas the Citroen Ami offers a range of 75 km.
The 5.5 kW battery in the Lite model charges in 2 hours, while the 11 kW battery charges fully in 4 hours. The battery capacity of the vehicle is 2.2 kW. The pricing for the Microlino Lite is quite interesting, with a monthly leasing option. The pricing for a 48-month lease with 5,000 km/year is around 156 euros or 169 dollars per month.
So, it’s possible to use the vehicle with a monthly lease of around 5300 TL. The purchase price of the Microlino Lite has not yet been disclosed. Although the initial version of Microlino has not arrived in Turkey, there is a possibility for the Microlino Lite to be introduced. The European sales price of Microlino is around 15,000 euros. Therefore, the Lite model will be much more affordable.
The model introduced at the Geneva Motor Show will be usable in some European countries with a moped driver’s license for 14-year-olds. However, it’s uncertain whether the Microlino Lite will come to Turkey, as it does not meet the B1 standards like the Citroen Ami.
Regarding the vehicle, the version with a 5.5 kWh battery weighs 571 kg. In Turkey, for a B1 class license, the vehicle must weigh 400 kg or less, with the motor power being 15 kW or less. Although the Lite model meets the criteria for motor power, it cannot fit into this class due to its weight. In Europe, this limit is set at 600 kg. Therefore, the vehicle can be used with an M class license for motorbikes.
