Coke Vs. Pepsi movie will be about the rivalry in the 1980s
The movie will tell the story of the “cola wars” of the 1980s, when Coca-Cola and Pepsi fought for dominance. The movie will include memorable events such as Michael Jackson’s hair catching fire while filming a Pepsi commercial. It will also cover events such as Coca-Cola’s attempt to launch New Coke and its rapid withdrawal after a huge backlash.
The script is written by Jason Shuman, co-creator and writer of the Apple TV+ series Acapulco, and Ben Queen of Cars 2 and 3.
Today, Coca-Cola is the number one cola brand worldwide in terms of revenue, with Pepsi in second place. Coca-Cola includes not only the iconic Coca-Cola drink, but also brands such as Sprite, Fanta and Powerade. Pepsi has brands like Mountain Dew and Gatorade.
This project is still in its early stages, Sony Pictures has only bought the idea for the movie. The script is still being written and there is no information yet about a cast, director or release date for the movie.
