The countdown has begun for Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy A56. With the increasing number of reports about the smartphone, questions about what to expect are becoming clearer by the day. The latest developments reveal that the model has crossed another critical milestone ahead of its launch.
Galaxy A56 Appears in the EMVCo Database
The Galaxy A56, listed with the model number SM-A566B/DS, has been spotted in the EMVCo database. While the listing confirms the smartphone will feature NFC technology and support contactless payments, it doesn’t reveal any other specifications. However, this indicates that the official launch is imminent.
The device also appeared recently in the Bluetooth SIG database under the same model number, confirming that it will come with Bluetooth 5.4 support. Its predecessor, the Galaxy A55, featured Bluetooth 5.3, marking a notable upgrade for the Galaxy A56.
The Galaxy A56 will be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1580 processor. This chipset, introduced a few months ago, features a 2.9 GHz high-performance Cortex-A720 core, three additional Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.6 GHz, and four Cortex-A520 cores optimized for efficiency at 1.95 GHz.
The Galaxy A56 is expected to feature a camera setup similar to its predecessors. It will likely include a triple-camera system with a 50 MP primary sensor, a 12 MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5 MP macro sensor. The front-facing camera will be upgraded to a new 12 MP selfie sensor.
One standout feature of the Galaxy A56 is its extended software support. Following the trend started with the Galaxy A16 5G, Samsung will provide six years of software updates for this mid-range device.
The A56 is expected to be priced between 450 and 500 euros. The launch is anticipated to take place in March 2025.
