Xiaomi abandoned the MIUI interface and switched to HyperOS starting last year. The company, which provides this operating system to many smartphones and tablets, has started working on HyperOS 2.0 to be introduced in the fall. So what does Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 promise?
Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 is coming in October
According to new details from Gizmochina, Xiaomi has started testing the Android-based HyperOS 2.0 interface. First announced last year, HyperOS aims to unify the Xiaomi ecosystem. In this context, it was offered to many models from flagship to budget-friendly.
Finally, it was seen that Xiaomi added an “OSBigversion” extension to the OTA update server. This extension seems to be used to separate HyperOS versions from MIUI versions during software updates. OSBigversion indicates that Xiaomi has officially started the development phase for HyperOS 2.0.
Thanks to version listing, new HyperOS versions can be identified separately from MIUI and pushed to compatible devices. The Chinese manufacturer will probably introduce HyperOS 2.0 in October. It will debut alongside the Xiaomi 15 series and distribution will begin in the fall.
It’s worth noting that HyperOS, which is currently in testing, has version numbers starting with V816. This seems to refer to Xiaomi’s first version of MIUI back in 2010. Also, HyperOS 1.0 test builds were numbered V15, suggesting that it is based on MIUI 15.
It should be noted that the new features or changes that will come with HyperOS 2.0 are unclear for now. However, the official testing means that Xiaomi is working on some changes for its new devices.
