Behaviour Interactive has rolled out Dead by Daylight update 9.1.1, addressing a wave of bugs and balance problems that followed last week’s contentious 9.1.0 patch. Fans had been vocal about issues affecting gameplay, particularly with certain Killers, Perks, and new items.
Dead by Daylight update 9.1.1 focuses on urgent fixes

The hotfix arrives just a week after the previous update, which introduced The Walking Dead crossover content, reworked maps, and multiple balance adjustments. While many welcomed the additions, several new exploits and mechanical glitches quickly overshadowed them.
Problem areas from 9.1.0
Players flagged multiple trouble spots, including:
- Streetwise, Blood Rush, and Last Stand Perks are introducing new bugs
- The Clown gains abnormal movement speed and bottle-throwing range
- Fog Vial item obstructing visibility with excessive opacity and volume
To limit disruption, Behaviour temporarily disabled the worst offenders using the Kill Switch system before preparing longer-term fixes.
What changes in Dead by Daylight Update 9.1.1
Streetwise and Last Stand are now re-enabled with targeted tweaks to prevent recurring bugs. The Fog Vial’s visual effects have been toned down for better visibility. Several priority bug fixes addressed:
- Killer chase mechanics
- The Deathslinger’s aiming animations for Survivors
- Audio glitches
- Character and environment inconsistencies
- Perk-specific malfunctions
More updates on the way
Behaviour has already confirmed another hotfix for next week, which will target the remaining Blood Rush bugs and apply further Fog Vial adjustments. The studio has promised faster communication and more proactive Kill Switch use to address future problems.
Restoring player confidence
With Dead by Daylight update 9.1.1, Behaviour is aiming to rebuild trust with its community of nine years. While The Clown’s balance remains under review, the current patch marks a step toward stabilizing gameplay after a rocky rollout. Whether these changes are enough to calm the fanbase will become clearer in the coming weeks as players put the fixes to the test.
