MediaTek made announcements yesterday about the Dimensity 9300 processor that will be produced for flagship phones. In their announcements, they confirmed the use of Arm’s brand-new Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 CPU cores, along with the Mali-G720 GPU. However, contrary to expectations, no mention was made about the small CPU core, Cortex-A520.
On the other hand, a Twitter account claimed that the Dimensity 9300 processor will not use any small CPU cores, and instead, it will have an eight-core CPU consisting of four Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores, replacing the small core. The leaker also stated that power consumption has decreased by 50% compared to the Dimensity 9200 series.
