Netflix’s biggest rival Disney+, continues to increase the number of users. The streaming service is currently offers affordable prices, to attracts more people. The subscription prices of Disney+ are 8 dollars for a month and 80 dollars for a year, but this is changing.
Disney CEO Bob Chapek has once again hinted that price hikes are on the horizon. So when will the streaming service raise prices? Here’s everything we know…
Disney+ warns all users over price rise
Bob Chapek first teased the increase in February, saying that it likely wouldn’t raise prices before October. The CEO spoke about this once again and said, “As we increase our content investment, we believe that that’s going to give us the ability to adjust our price.”
After the announcement, it became clear that Disney+‘s affordable pricing policy has ended. Recent reports revealed that the service has reached 137.9 million subscribers. Therefore, it no longer makes sense to be as competitive in price as it used to be.
Probably, the rapid decline in Netflix’s subscribers also made it easier for the company to take this decision. Unfortunately, it is unclear how much the new subscription fees will be, but it is expected to be at the same level as its competitors.
Netflix’s subscription fees in USA:
- Basic: 9.99$
- Standard: 15.99$
- Premium: 19.99$
