Disney reportedly pushes for Switch 2 ports as Star Wars games may be on the way
The Nintendo Switch 2 may soon see a flood of big-budget titles especially from Disney. According to a new report, Disney has instructed third-party studios to prepare native Switch 2 versions of all games based on its properties, including Star Wars.

Tipster Nash Weedle, known for previous accurate Nintendo leaks, claims that Disney has put out a directive: all future Disney-owned games should target the Switch 2. That includes current and upcoming titles across franchises like Star Wars, Marvel, and Kingdom Hearts.
The leak specifically mentions Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor as already in development for Nintendo’s next-gen handheld hybrid. If true, these would mark a major shift both games previously skipped the original Switch entirely.

Original Switch struggled with AAA games
Despite its massive success, the first Nintendo Switch had a clear limitation power. Many studios simply couldn’t get their games to run at acceptable performance or fidelity. As a result, major AAA releases often bypassed the platform or arrived in compromised form.
That seems to be changing fast.
The Switch 2 reportedly boasts serious upgrades: around 1.7 TFLOPs of performance in handheld mode, scaling to over 3 TFLOPs when docked. In raw numbers, that’s more than 1,100% more compute power than the original Switch. With DLSS upscaling in the mix, the Switch 2 is shaping up to handle modern games at stable frame rates and that’s got publishers paying attention.
Star Wars and Marvel games could land day one on Switch 2
With the Switch 2’s power bump, developers no longer need to build stripped-down versions of their games. That opens the door for full native releases of demanding titles. If Disney is indeed mandating Switch 2 support, we could see:
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
- Marvel Rivals
- Kingdom Hearts collection
- Possible future Avengers or X-Men titles
These games, which previously leaned toward PC and PlayStation/Xbox audiences, may now launch day-one on Nintendo’s next system.
Not confirmed, but far from unlikely
While Disney hasn’t officially commented, and Nash Weedle’s report should be treated as a leak, it fits the growing pattern. Major third-party publishers, including Ubisoft and Capcom, are already building Switch 2 versions of their titles. Star Wars Outlaws, 007: First Light, and Resident Evil Requiem are all reportedly arriving on the system alongside PS5 and Xbox Series versions.
If Disney follows suit, the Switch 2 could finally bridge the gap between mainstream Nintendo games and blockbuster third-party support.
