Fans of DJI’s ultra-portable vlogging cameras will have to wait a little longer. Fresh reports now indicate DJI will delay the global release of the Osmo Pocket 4 until January 2026, pushing it back from the originally expected December launch.
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 faces last-minute delays

The Osmo Pocket 3, still selling for around $518, was launched in late 2023. Naturally, expectations for a follow-up began building as DJI products typically follow a yearly cycle. Hints of the Osmo Pocket 4’s existence surfaced in FCC listings last month, confirming not just the name but also a 20% battery upgrade compared to its predecessor.
Leaked photos and early specs had many expecting a year-end launch. However, Photorabz reports quality control issues with accessories not the camera itself may have pushed back the timeline. It’s unclear what specific accessory problems are to blame, but the delay seems to stem from final packaging and readiness, not development.
DJI may still tease Osmo Pocket 4 before year’s end
While full release is now expected in January 2026, that doesn’t mean DJI will stay silent through December. Both Photorabz and The New Camera believe that official teasers could drop before the end of the year, likely to drum up interest and confirm a formal launch window.
This approach would allow DJI to sidestep its upcoming U.S. restrictions, which may affect distribution or marketing, depending on how enforcement plays out.
What we know about Osmo Pocket 4 so far
Here’s what’s been leaked or confirmed through regulatory listings:
- 20% larger battery for extended recording
- Same compact design philosophy as previous models
- Improved accessories, though some are reportedly causing launch delays
- Multiple leaked images showing minor design tweaks
Even with the delay, interest in DJI’s next-gen handheld camera remains high. For vloggers and solo content creators, the Osmo Pocket line remains one of the few options that blends 4K quality with palm-sized convenience.
The wait may stretch into early 2026, but a teaser could land any day now.
