Windows 11 users have brought to the agenda a remarkable performance problem experienced in the Start Menu of the operating system. According to a post by software developer Alex Fazio on the social media platform X, a serious increase in the load on the processor is observed every time the Start Menu is opened. Fazio stated that this situation consumes system resources unnecessarily.
Windows 11’s Start Menu unnecessarily strains the processor
According to the shared data, there is an increase in processor usage ranging from 30% to 70% every time the menu is opened. The source of the problem is shown as the software infrastructure preferred in the development of the menu.

According to the information conveyed, the Start Menu in Windows 11 has been prepared using the React Native framework. React Native normally allows the development of mobile and desktop applications with JavaScript-based web technologies.
It is known that this technology speeds up the development process, but it is also stated that it can cause performance losses due to the multi-layered structure of applications. The problem experienced specifically with the Start Menu is also associated with this structure consuming more system resources than expected.
Fazio’s findings were quickly confirmed by other users. It was reported that these sudden processor loads are observed more frequently, especially in cases where the recommended applications section is actively used.
Users state that the problem is not random, and that the menu experiences high processor load almost every second time it is used. However, no official statement has yet been made by Microsoft on the subject.
