Former U.S. President Donald Trump harshly criticized NBC’s late-night show Late Night with Seth Meyers and publicly threatened the telecommunications and media giant Comcast, saying it should “pay a heavy price.” Trump claimed that the show, in particular, contained political attacks aimed at him and the Republican Party.
Donald Trump spoke very strongly
In a late-night post on his Truth Social platform, Trump described Seth Meyers’ show as “stupid and incompetent.” He has long criticized NBC and MSNBC, accusing Comcast of directly contributing to the Democratic Party.

Regarding one of the biggest media giants in the U.S., Trump said, “Comcast should pay a heavy price for these political attacks. These shows are not entertainment, they are purely 100% political hit jobs. This company operates as if it is directly contributing to the Democratic Party.”
During his first presidential term, Trump proposed canceling NBC’s broadcast license, but Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai explained that licenses are issued to stations, not networks, and that news programs are protected by the First Amendment. Brendan Carr, who was appointed as the FCC Chairman during Trump’s second term, suggested that complaints about news programs could be reviewed.
Trump’s criticism of Meyers contrasts with the visit of current President Joe Biden to the studio last year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the program, further highlighting the polarization in the media and telecommunications world.
