What does Total Chaos promise?
The remastered version of the Doom 2 mod Total Chaos was announced at the PC Gaming Show. Produced by Trigger Happy Interactive, developer of Turbo Overkill, it promises to take the survival horror experience to a new level.
Total Chaos mode was originally released in 2018 after a decade of development and transformed Doom 2 into a survival horror experience. Powered by the Unity engine and published by Apogee Entertainment, publisher of Turbo Overkill, the upcoming title offers a significant graphical upgrade and a more immersive atmosphere.
The new trailer showcases the game’s fierce combat and frightening environments. Players will step into the shoes of a coast guard investigating the disappearance of workers on the island of Fort Oasis. Solving the mystery will require confronting not only creatures but also the protagonist’s own past.
According to the developer, survival will depend on gathering resources and crafting weapons. The game will emphasize a psychological horror aspect, reinforced by dynamic enemy AI.
While the current target release date is the second quarter of 2025, a playable demo is expected to be released in early 2025.
