Sony has filed new patents for the DualSense controller, which aims to reduce delays in online gaming and enable the controller to be used in a completely new way for targeting enemies in games. This significant technology focuses on enhancing the gaming experience with the help of artificial intelligence. Here are the details…
Sony’s new patents to improve the DualSense experience!
The first of the new patents discusses the use of artificial intelligence to predict which buttons the player will press, reduce delays in online games, or improve reaction times in situations where defeating enemies is crucial.

The second patent demonstrates how the DualSense sensors will be used in a new way, making it easier to hold the controller as if it were a real gun, especially in shooting or FPS games.
This will allow players to use the space between the R1 and R2 buttons as a plus sign, adding more realism to the game. However, this positioning may make the controller less ergonomic and prevent players from using the adaptive triggers to aim and shoot.
Lastly, the other two patents talk about the use of AI to manipulate accounts for impersonating players and detecting cheaters in online games. This helps in identifying players who press buttons irregularly or get stuck in certain parts of the game.
Of course, these are currently just patents, and it remains unclear whether Sony will actually implement these technologies in DualSense controllers in the near future.
