Electronic Arts has recently shared information about the personal preferences of The Sims players. Many players expressed on social media that they prefer to build new things in the game, while others enjoy following their Sims’ lives, caring for them, and observing their development. However, this discussion was definitively settled after EA revealed the numbers. Here are the details…
The Sims Players Focus on Enjoying Simulation
According to EA’s announcement, players have spent over 2.4 billion hours in The Sims 4 by 2024. Of these hours, 759 million were dedicated to the simulation mode, where players engage in their virtual characters’ daily lives.
In contrast, the building mode, which allows for creating personalized homes and environments, accounted for 303 million hours. Thus, the reported figures indicate that while customization remains popular, the simulation aspect continues to be the main focus for most players.
The latest report suggests that many players initially view building as the first step in the game, but over time, they become more focused on the life simulation aspect. Simulation appears to be the main attraction point for the community, which consists of over 80 million players, according to the numbers disclosed by EA.
Recently, EA provided more details about the development of The Sims movie. The company confirmed that the highly anticipated film will be produced by the same producer responsible for Barbie. Thus, we can expect a production from Amazon MGM Studios in partnership with LuckyChap.
Additionally, while reiterating its commitment to continue working on the franchise, EA noted that The Sims 5 is not part of their current plans. This announcement may signify the end of a simulation series that has seen new versions over the past 25 years.
