With the digitalization of the world, cryptocurrencies continue to gain widespread popularity, and one of the countries that stands out in this regard is undoubtedly El Salvador. Making significant decisions regarding cryptocurrencies, El Salvador, led by President Nayib Bukele, is now preparing to integrate Bitcoin into its educational curriculum.
Bitcoin is entering El Salvador’s educational curriculum!
Located in Central America, El Salvador, under the leadership of Nayib Bukele, has gained prominence in recent years for its decisions related to Bitcoin. In fact, in 2021, El Salvador became the first country to officially adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender, and it has also invested in cryptocurrency mining initiatives.
According to information shared by American author Stacy Herbert, starting from 2024, education about Bitcoin will be introduced in state schools and educational institutions across El Salvador. This education, which will also cover elementary schools, aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge about cryptocurrencies and important topics such as Bitcoin’s economic impacts. The goal is to ensure that students are not unfamiliar with this field.
In collaboration between the Mi Primer Bitcoin Foundation and the Ministry of Education in El Salvador, more than 150 teachers have started receiving training in Bitcoin and financial education for the planned educational curriculum. Additionally, well-known educators in the cryptocurrency field have been invited to provide education to students, and among these invitees is Bitcoin developer Jimmy Song.
