The rapid spread of electric cars in the world and the rapid growth of this sector continue to be effective in our country. Hyundai Motor Turkey, which currently manufactures cars in our country, has now announced that it is preparing to manufacture electric vehicles. Here are the details.
Hyundai Turkey is preparing to manufacture electric vehicles
Hyundai, which offers users a good electric car experience especially with the IONIQ series, announced that it will switch to electric car production in its factory in İzmit. Electric car production is planned to be under Hyundai Motor Turkey in 2026 in the factory, where preparations have just started.

The electric car, which will be produced domestically, will contribute to the brand’s goal of offering only zero exhaust emission vehicles in Europe by 2035 and will also be an opportunity for users in Turkey.
The brand, which recently changed its commercial title from “Hyundai Assan Otomotiv Sanayi” to “Hyundai Motor Türkiye”, stands out as the first and long-serving overseas production center outside of Korea in addition to its restructuring efforts. According to the statements, the company, which has produced more than three million vehicles in 28 years, will start producing an electric model in 2026.
The statement made by the brand says the following:
“In addition to its current production expansion, Hyundai Motor Turkey also prioritizes local supply. In this way, more than 55 percent of vehicle components are produced domestically through a network of more than 50 suppliers. EVs to be produced in İzmit will also aim to maintain this rate.”
