The legal battle between the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, and artificial intelligence giant OpenAI has reached a new dimension. According to information shared by Bloomberg, OpenAI is accusing Elon Musk of “injecting chaos” into the ongoing litigation process. Documents submitted to the court on Saturday claim that Musk is intentionally trying to disrupt the course of the lawsuit. These accusations followed immediately after Musk made the latest amendments to the lawsuit he filed against OpenAI and Microsoft.
Elon Musk’s $134 Billion Compensation Demand
Elon Musk clarified his demands by making significant updates to the lawsuit petition. The famous billionaire defines OpenAI’s deviation from its initial non-profit structure to a profit-oriented model as a fraud. On this ground, Musk is demanding a massive compensation payment of exactly $134 billion. However, Musk requests that this money not be paid to him, but to OpenAI’s non-profit foundation. Additionally, he stipulates that the company’s current CEO, Sam Altman, and president, Greg Brockman, be removed from their positions.

OpenAI management, on the other hand, views this move as Musk’s effort to refresh his public image. According to the company, Musk is trying to portray himself as a figure attempting to protect the corporate structure rather than just looking like a billionaire chasing money. The official filing emphasizes that this change in strategy is based entirely on a fabricated narrative. OpenAI argues that Musk’s new demands have no legal basis and that the lawsuit has been diverted from its original purpose.
While the case is expected to begin at the end of this month, the OpenAI side characterizes Musk’s last-minute moves as a “legal ambush.” The company states that these new changes will require entirely different evidence and witnesses, which complicates the judicial process. The sudden shift in theses that were defended until three days ago has created serious uncertainty and confusion in the court proceedings.
