Renowned entrepreneur Elon Musk announced via the X platform that he has decided to move his role as CEO of SpaceX to the state of Texas. This decision stems from the negative court ruling against Musk in Delaware, where the company is currently based. Musk, visibly upset by the decision, urged anyone with businesses in Delaware to move to other states without delay.
SpaceX could now potentially become a Texas-based company!
The decision that disappointed Musk was related to the substantial income he earned from his other company, Tesla. Some investors of the company deemed Musk’s $56 billion profit, which constitutes a significant portion of his wealth, excessively high and pursued legal action. Delaware judges ruled against Musk in the lawsuit, refusing to approve this high profit. In response, Musk stated in his remarks that he would use this money for interplanetary ventures that would benefit all of humanity.
Musk conducted a poll on the X platform regarding whether SpaceX should be moved to Texas, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response of 87%. Subsequently, Musk announced that he would share his decision with the SpaceX board of directors and conduct a vote on the matter. If the vote also results in approval, SpaceX will officially become a Texas-based company. Last week, another of Musk’s companies, Neuralink, relocated from Delaware to Nevada.
