Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s much-anticipated Spaces live stream on X has unexpectedly crashed. The special event, which was scheduled to take place on Monday, was supposed to start at 17:00, but users were greeted with error messages when they tried to enter the broadcast room at the specified time.

The event, planned to celebrate Donald Trump’s return to the X platform and a conversation with Elon Musk, was highly anticipated after Trump posted on the platform for the first time in a long time. Trump announced the Spaces event and campaign ads with various posts throughout the day. However, the broadcast, which was supposed to start at 17:00, started 42 minutes late due to technical problems.
When users tried to join the broadcast, they received an error message saying “This Space is not available.” This caused a lot of frustration among Musk and Trump’s fans. Elon Musk stated that the reason for the late start of the broadcast was a massive DDOS attack on X. DDOS attacks are known as cyberattacks that overwhelm an internet server with artificial traffic flow, making it inaccessible.
Musk claimed that the attacks were caused by the opposition
“This massive attack shows a massive opposition to people just hearing what President Trump has to say,” Musk said at the beginning of the broadcast. He also noted that the tests were successful, with 8 million listeners tuning in during the day.
Incidentally, this was not the first major technical issue with Spaces. Previously, there were similar technical glitches during Ron DeSantis’ 2024 campaign announcement in May 2023. This event, hosted by Elon Musk and David Sacks, was interrupted during a Twitter Space session.
