Musk: Test Version of Grok 2 AI Model to Be Released Soon
In a statement made in March, Musk claimed that the Grok 2 model would surpass existing AI models “in all metrics.” He also announced that Grok 3 would follow shortly after, with a release expected by the end of the year.
Grok 3 is rumored to perform at or above the level of GPT-5, the yet-to-be-released model developed by OpenAI. The first version of the Grok model was launched in November 2023, during which time Musk founded xAI with the aim of competing with OpenAI.
Shortly after its establishment, xAI raised $6 billion in funding, with the company’s valuation reaching $24 billion. The Grok 1.5 model, released in April, drew attention for its enhanced inference capabilities and ability to process longer text inputs.
Given these developments, many are eager to see how Musk and xAI will shape the competition in the AI field. Do you think Grok 2 and Grok 3 will surpass the current AI models? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
