Twitter (X) continues to receive new features under the management of Elon Musk. Artificial intelligence-based search feature is on the way for Twitter, which hosts thousands of posts from different categories. This means that your searches will show results based on meaning, not words.
Twitter’s new search feature will understand the meaning of your queries, not just the words
According to a statement made by Elon Musk, Twitter wants to make searching for specific tweets and information more efficient. For this, the platform is working on a semantic search feature. Thanks to semantic search, the meaning of the word you are looking for will be searched.
Elon Musk tweeted that the company is currently working on semantic search. This technology, also known as contextual search, aims to understand the purpose behind the search query instead of matching the searched words.
Semantic search, which is used in many search engines such as Google and Bing, allows users to find more relevant results. For example, when you type “ShiftDelete.Net” in Google, results such as “Turkey’s largest technology site” and “technology news” are also shown.
According to Musk’s post, the new search technology will be rolled out in stages. In the first phase, it will focus on queries related to news and current events. In this way, users who want to search for a popular topic on X will be shown relevant tweets.
Training semantic search models requires a significant amount of data. Therefore, although the new feature is being worked on, it is unlikely to be available in the near future.
