Huawei today unveiled the new SUV model of its joint car venture Wenjie (to be launched globally as Aito) at an event. Dubbed the Wenjie M9, the electric car is intriguing with its HarmonyOS software and spacious interior.
What does Wenjie M9 SUV promise?
Introduced at an event in China, the Wenjie M9 looks like it will set new standards in the luxury electric vehicle segment with its spacious interior, Huawei ADS 2.0 driver assistance technology and infotainment system. With a wheelbase of 3.1 meters, the vehicle is more than 5 meters long.
According to Huawei, legroom extends across three rows of seats. It leaves more than 1 meter of wiggle room for the passengers in front. This provides a comfortable travel experience for users on long journeys.
On the engine side, there are two versions of the Wenjie M9: extended range and pure electric. The extended range version consists of a turbo four-cylinder dual electric + hybrid engine. The maximum power of this engine is 112 kW. In addition, battery packs ranging from 42 kWh to 100 kWh offer a range of 630 km on a single charge.
In terms of technology features, the M9 includes driver assistance systems based on Huawei ADS 2.0, such as adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist. It also features a 15.6-inch infotainment screen and a 32-inch rear seat display.
Pricing starts at 469,800 yuan ($65,000) for the extended-range model and goes up to 569,800 yuan ($79,000) for the full electric version. The car will initially be offered in China.
