Meta, the social media giant, has started notifying Facebook users about an important change. Starting from February 19, the company will begin deleting live stream recordings after 30 days. So, what does this change mean, and how will it affect users? Here are the details…
Facebook will keep live stream recordings for only 30 days
According to reports, starting from February 19, Facebook will store live stream recordings for just 30 days. Users will need to download or store the videos on a cloud service within this time frame to avoid losing them.

Alternatively, users can share these videos as Reels, with a 90-second limit. Meta explains that most views of live streams happen within the first few weeks, and the change aims to align their storage policy with industry standards.
The company will delete videos older than 30 days, but users will receive a notification before the deletion starts. They will have the opportunity to download and save their videos within 90 days. The platform will offer options for bulk downloading or transferring videos to cloud services like Google Drive or Dropbox.
Users who want to save live stream videos can find and download their past broadcasts via Facebook’s Activity Log. Videos can also be accessed from the profile or page and downloaded after watching in full-screen mode.
