FIFA aims to allow the Super League to be played outside of Turkey with the rule change
While some innovations in football are welcomed by spectators, others are not considered beneficial at all. Moreover, while most decisions made by FIFA are met with criticism, it’s still unclear what impact the new rule will have. Now, the rule change affecting local matches, namely league matches, concerns the location where the matches are played and the fans.
FIFA, under the leadership of President Gianni Infantino, is planning to make a major and attention-grabbing innovation this time. In a statement made by a lawyer representing FIFA in federal court, it was announced that with the new rule, league matches can now be played abroad.
Although this rule has not officially been implemented yet, it has been said that the rule allowing domestic league matches to be played abroad could come ‘before the end of the year.’ If this rule change is implemented by FIFA, some Süper Lig matches could be played abroad and some teams from foreign leagues could play in Turkey.
