Car of the Year finalists announced
The list of the best cars for 2024 shows that electric vehicles are on the rise. Accordingly, five of the seven finalists are fully electric vehicles. BYD, making its first appearance on the list, demonstrates the international recognition of Chinese vehicles with its Seal model.
BMW’s new 5 Series, including the all-electric i5, is also among the finalists. Meanwhile, Volvo’s EX30 follows in the footsteps of the award-winning XC40, while the Kia EV9 looks to continue the success of the previous EV6.
Toyota chose the C-HR over the Prius this year. The finalist Renault model was the electric Scenic. Peugeot, which has won the award almost every year, returns this year with the 3008 SUV. All nominees for the 2024 Car of the Year are as follows:
- BMW 5-Series
- BYD Seal
- Kia EV9
- Peugeot E-3008/3008
- Renault Scenic
- Toyota C-HR
- Volvo EX30
Models from different segments and powertrain options will be evaluated in a vote on February 26. However, the chosen vehicle seems to be a car that pioneered the electric age.
