The first information leaked that Qualcomm is working on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The leak came from renowned leakster Digital Chat Station (DCS), who recently unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagships.
What will the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 offer?
According to DCS, Qualcomm will skip TSMC’s N2 node in this new chipset. Instead, the company will use the N2P manufacturing process, which promises better power efficiency and performance compared to N2.
The leak also revealed that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 will support LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage. Because this chip is designed for premium flagship phones, it is expected to command a higher price.

Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 17 series, the first phones to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, in September of this year. Therefore, it’s likely that the Xiaomi 18 series, expected to launch in September 2026, will use the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.
Qualcomm isn’t expected to share details about the new chip this early, as the current generation isn’t yet complete. The US-based chipmaker is expected to announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip in the coming weeks.
This new chip, positioned below the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, is likely to first appear in the OnePlus Ace 6 Turbo in December this year. It’s still unclear which other phones will feature this chip.
