A danger alert was issued in the Black Sea. Fishermen fishing off the coast of Çarşıbaşı, Trabzon, spotted an unmanned marine vehicle containing 300 kilograms of explosives. Following the incident, extensive security measures were taken at Yoroz Port, and the vehicle was examined by expert teams.
Ukrainian unmanned marine vehicle captured
Bozokoğlu Fishery owner Halil İbrahim Bozok and his fishermen, who were fishing at night, spotted an object on their radar approximately 800 meters offshore. The fishermen thought the object was a small boat adrift due to a storm. However, when they tied it up and towed it to Yoroz Port, they realized it was a military unmanned marine vehicle and immediately reported the situation to the Coast Guard.

The port was cordoned off following a report. A special expert team from Istanbul was immediately called to the area. Initial investigations suggest the vehicle may be of Ukrainian origin. Images shared by İDA bear a resemblance to Ukraine’s Magura V5 model.
Detailed investigations revealed that the vehicle contained 300 kilograms of explosives. Ukraine had been using Magura V5 and similar IDAs for kamikaze attacks against the Russian Navy.
The Trabzon Governor’s Office released a written statement regarding the incident. The Governor’s Office announced that the dangerous object, brought to the port, was secured for examination by specialized teams affiliated with the Naval Forces Command (SAS) after taking necessary security measures.
The Governor’s Office also urged citizens not to intervene in similar situations and to immediately notify security forces. This incident demonstrated that the risk of war in the Black Sea has reached the Turkish coast.
