Following the release of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, reports of issues with the devices have been a constant trend. The Pro series, previously criticized for its aluminum frame, which was said to scratch easily, is now facing a new problem related to the camera flash. Users report that flash shadows appear on objects in photos taken with the flash.
Flash Issue in the iPhone 17 Pro Series
Apple has moved the flash location on the iPhone 17 Pro models from the camera cluster to a different side of the device. This new design change, according to user reports, has directly caused a problem. One iPhone 17 Pro Max owner reported that when using the camera flash, the flash casts a shadow on the subject, making shots blurry.
Another user openly stated that the flash’s new location is the source of this issue. One content creator elaborated on the issue, saying, “When shooting with the iPhone 17 Pro series, it feels like the light is shining from the corner. This is really annoying.”
It was emphasized that this ghosting and blurring issue was not seen in older iPhone series. While the problems persisted, the iOS 26.0.1 update, previously reported to have resolved other issues with the device, was released five days ago. It remains to be seen whether the flashing issue is due to a software or hardware design change.
