After years of speculation, Apple is poised to launch its first foldable iPhone, signaling the company’s entry into a new segment of smartphones. The device, rumored to be called the iPhone Fold, has sparked widespread curiosity, but recent insights now shed light on some of its key features.
iPhone Fold screen size revealed
According to TrendForce, a Taiwanese market research firm, Apple’s foldable phone will debut in the latter half of 2026. The device is expected to sport a 7.8-inch screen on the inside and a 5.5-inch display on the outside, allowing users flexibility whether the phone is folded or unfolded. These dimensions align with predictions made earlier this year by respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
By way of comparison, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, which was introduced recently, offers an 8-inch internal display and a 6.5-inch external screen. Notably, both Apple’s upcoming foldable and Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy Z Fold 8 are anticipated to feature inner displays free from the typical crease that has been a common concern in foldable technology.
On the hardware front, the foldable iPhone is expected to include a dual-camera system on the back and a single front camera. Interestingly, Apple may opt to replace Face ID with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button, offering an alternative biometric security method.
This new device could mark a significant step in Apple’s innovation journey, as it seeks to compete more directly in the evolving foldable smartphone market.
