While gaming used to be limited to computers and consoles, the mobile gaming industry has also evolved significantly. Phone manufacturer Lava has announced its entry into the gaming segment with the announcement of a new device. The new phone, called the Lava Play Ultra, is positioned in the higher-end segment and promises a great experience for gamers. Here are the features and details.
Lava Play Ultra: Features and Gaming Experience
Lava’s new device, the Play Ultra, is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Storage can also be expanded up to 1TB with a microSD card.

The company stated that the Play Ultra runs on “pure Android 15” out of the box, “without ads, extra software, or unwanted apps.” The new device comes with a two-year warranty on operating system upgrades and three years of security updates.
While not as sophisticated as other gaming phones, this device also boasts a dedicated Game Booster feature for a better gaming experience. The display features a 6.67-inch FullHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, while a 13-megapixel selfie camera sits above the screen.
On the rear, the camera island, reminiscent of the iQOO 12 and iQOO 13, houses a 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 lens and a 5-megapixel macro camera. The Play Ultra also comes with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging.
The Lava Play Ultra comes in Glacier Gray and Glacier White and comes in two memory options: 6GB RAM / 128GB storage and 8GB RAM / 128GB storage. Prices are set at 14,999 rupees ($170/€150) and 16,499 rupees ($190/€160), respectively.
