Ford’s iconic model Fiesta maintains its place on the automotive agenda despite being discontinued in 2023. New developments indicate that the vehicle may return to the roads with a fully electric version. According to the latest information, Ford is considering expanding its collaboration with Volkswagen for this transformation.
Fiesta will return with an electric version
Previous platform partnerships between Ford and Volkswagen may form the basis of the new Fiesta. The two companies are currently discussing the option of using the MEB Entry platform that Volkswagen developed for its compact electric models. This platform was previously used in Ford’s electric Explorer and Capri models.

Although the details regarding the technical specifications of the new Fiesta are not yet clear; if it has the MEB Entry infrastructure, it is expected to offer a range of approximately 450 kilometers and provide DC fast charging support up to 125 kW. However, no official confirmation has been made by Ford regarding the project so far.
The picture seems more complicated in terms of pricing. While the production costs of small and affordable vehicles in the automotive sector are increasing, even Ford’s current compact model Puma has now moved away from the “budget-friendly” category.
Company officials clearly state that it is becoming difficult to make a profit from small city cars. This will make it very difficult to present Fiesta as an economical option as it was in previous generations.
More information about the vehicle is expected to emerge in the future. So what do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
