Former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger spoke to the public for the first time at a technology event he attended in Tokyo. Gelsinger, who stated that he did not leave his position of his own volition, said that he had to leave before completing his plans, which he described as revolutionary.
Pat Gelsinger made important statements
Gelsinger stated that the decision to leave belonged to the board of directors. Although he did not directly mention a name, he stated that the process was managed by a third party. It is thought that the background of this intervention in Intel’s management structure was especially effective in the unsuccessful results on the production side.

Gelsinger, who developed the IDM 2.0 strategy as one of the biggest projects during his term of office, planned to build a system where Intel could effectively use both its own production facilities and external resources at the same time.
This structure meant an infrastructure that could compete more aggressively with strong competitors such as TSMC in the sector. Gelsinger, who said that this goal was approached with the 18A production process, stated that he could not see the results of the plan during his term.
According to Gelsinger, the foundations of the Intel Foundry unit were laid with this vision. However, the production processes developed under the 5N4Y strategy announced by the company did not create a market impact as expected. These technologies were implemented only with limited internal use.
This situation was directly reflected in both the financial results and the brand perception. Intel Foundry could not provide the expected trust in the market. The company’s internal dynamics were also greatly shaken during this process. Intel is preparing to undergo one of the largest personnel reductions in its history in a short time.
It is thought that these developments are directly related to Gelsinger’s departure. So what do you think about this issue? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
