The 2025 Miami Grand Prix featured a unique driver parade over the weekend. Instead of pickup trucks, Formula 1 drivers got into full-size F1 vehicles made entirely of LEGO pieces to greet the fans before the race.
Formula 1 drivers used LEGO vehicles
Each of the vehicles used in the parade was built from approximately 400 thousand LEGO pieces. The vehicles were prepared in a one-to-one scale to the real F1 cars and weighed approximately 1,500 kilograms. LEGO engineers made all the elements from sponsor logos to tire details and aerodynamic lines in a way that was true to the original.

However, the maximum speed of the vehicles was limited to 20 km/h for safety reasons. LEGO formed a team of 26 people specifically for the parade. This team, consisting of designers, engineers and LEGO masters, spent more than 22 thousand hours in total to produce the vehicles.
During the lap on the track, some drivers deliberately crashed their vehicles into each other. The destruction of the vehicles also became part of the entertaining moments for the audience. The event was organized to celebrate the long-standing partnership between Formula 1 and LEGO.
However, this is not the first time that an F1 car made of LEGO pieces has appeared on this track. In 2024, McLaren driver Lando Norris drove a P1 replica made of LEGO on the Silverstone track. In 2022, the McLaren F1 car was displayed with a LEGO version.
