A long time ago, Fortnite paid the price for the disagreement between Epic Games and Apple. The discussion, which started with Epic Games being uncomfortable with the App Store fees, ended with Fortnite being removed from iOS. Now, the popular game Fortnite is returning to the iOS operating system.
Fortnite will be downloaded from AltStore, not App Store, on iOS devices!
When Fortnite first came out on mobile devices, it was also offered to iOS devices via the App Store. However, Epic Games, which was uncomfortable with Apple’s pricing policy for the App Store, could not reach an agreement with the platform owner. As a result, Apple removed the application from the App Store, depriving iOS users of Fortnite. Now the situation is changing.
Developer Epic Games, who wants to see Fortnite on iOS again, will soon bring the game to Apple’s operating system. However, the company, which will do this via AltStore, not App Store, seems determined to continue competing with Apple. Epic Games, which prefers different channels instead of the App Store, which takes a 12 percent fee cut for all transactions recorded in the application, apparently does not want to share its earnings at the expense of competition.
As you know, AltStore is an alternative application store to the App Store for iOS and iPadOS operating systems. AltStore, which is a very reliable and solid store, will now bring Fortnite to iOS users. The game, which will be offered to European Union countries in the first place, will be available for download before the end of 2024.
Epic Games, which seems to be fixing the situation on the Apple side for now, will remove the game from the Galaxy Store this time, according to leaks, as a result of the disagreement it had with Samsung. On the one hand, the company, which brings the game to the platforms it wants with new agreements, is strangely pulling the game from the platforms it is currently on. Epic Games, who made statements that it wants to see Fortnite on other mobile application stores if there are agreements that comply with the developer conditions on the subject, stated that it will not work with platforms that serve as rent collectors.
