Tesla’s Cybertruck vehicle, which was added to the game with the latest update of Fortnite, started a huge debate among players. Players united to blast this new vehicle as soon as they saw it in the game. This new tool, added to Epic Games’ popular battle royale game, can also be used in the Rocket League game. But there is no problem there yet.
The addition of the Cybertruck to Fortnite was not well-received among players and even developers
Tesla Cybertruck was added to Fortnite and Rocket League games as of July 23. This vehicle is available as a free reward for players who complete certain missions through the Summer Road Trip missions. In addition to adding a Cybertruck to their garage, players who complete the missions also earn various rewards such as Green Day Jam Track, Back Bling, wheels and broken glass cosmetics.
However, instead of welcoming this vehicle with joy, many players come together to explode the Cybertruck wherever they see it. Comments are made among Reddit users, such as that the tool is “extremely expensive” and reminds me of the textures that did not load in the 2020 Cyberpunk game.
Not only players, but also some Epic Games developers expressed that they were not happy with this new content. Fortnite co-producer Robby Williams made a call in his post on X/Twitter: “Detonate it wherever you see it.”
Epic Games producer Kyle Wynn also reminded that companies are made up of individuals and each individual may have different opinions, and supported the players’ reaction by saying, “Yes, focus where you see it.”
Fortnite players have been showered with content recently, with many new additions such as Pirates of the Caribbean costumes, Fortnite Reload mode and Fallout content. The game is currently in Episode 5, Season 3, and Season 4 is expected to launch in mid-August. The reason for this hatred towards Cybertruck is not yet clear.
