Samsung has launched Gemini, Google’s AI-powered assistant, for its Galaxy Buds 3 series headphones. However, this new feature requires certain system requirements. To activate Gemini support, the phone to which the headphones are connected must have received the Android 16-based One UI 8 update.
Galaxy Buds 3 will offer AI features
Gemini is being developed by Google as an AI assistant that can understand context, perform advanced tasks, and engage in more natural conversations. Previously available on the Pixel Buds, this support is now available on Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro models. With the new update, users can see the “Set up Google Digital Assistant” option in the “Voice Controls” menu of the Galaxy Wearable app.

However, the feature is currently available to a limited number of users. The One UI 8 update is currently only available in beta for the Galaxy S25 series and on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. This means that the majority of users who want to experience Gemini do not yet have access to the necessary software infrastructure.
However, some users are unable to see the Gemini option on Android 16 devices despite applying the necessary updates. This raises the possibility that the update is being rolled out regionally in phases, or that server-side configurations are not yet complete.
Samsung has not yet made an official announcement. However, Gemini integration is expected to be rolled out to more devices and users in the coming weeks. The timing of the feature’s availability on a wider range of devices as a stable release remains unclear.
