Google has been working on Android 15 since February and is currently in the platform stability phase. The official release is expected by the end of August, initially for Pixel devices. Following this, Samsung will introduce the update for its Galaxy devices, branded as One UI 7.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra has surfaced in Geekbench tests, running Android 15. This follows the recent appearance of the Galaxy S24 Plus in similar tests, suggesting that Samsung is actively testing the new software on its flagship models.
Samsung is preparing for a major event where it will unveil new devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Buds 3, and Galaxy Watch 7. Amidst these announcements, the company is also focusing on the One UI 7.0 update.
According to Geekbench reports, the Galaxy S23 Ultra (model number SM-2918U) is currently being tested with One UI 7 in the U.S. market. It is expected that the One UI 7 Beta program will first be available for the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy Z Fold6 before being rolled out to older models.
The Android 15 update for the Galaxy S23 Ultra is expected to arrive within the next two to three months. Once released, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will still be eligible for two more major operating system updates. However, the Galaxy S24 series is anticipated to receive updates for seven years.
