How did the Galaxy S25 Plus incident unfold?
The incident was shared by a user using the nickname “Jason” on the South Korea-based Clien.net forum. The user posted photos of the blue Galaxy S25 Plus on fire. The device was allegedly sitting on a table while not connected to a charger.

The user initially reported a strong smell of burning plastic. Shortly after, they noticed smoke rising from the device and then it caught fire. The photos clearly show extensive damage to the bottom of the phone, particularly around the battery and charging port.
The back panel of the device is melted, and the frame is warped due to heat. The screen also appears to have changed color due to the high temperature. Burn marks also appeared on the table where the phone was sitting. The user expressed suspicion that this issue was caused by a manufacturing defect in the battery.
This is the first serious burn report for the S25 series, which launched earlier this year. Samsung is reportedly aware of the incident and has contacted the user to investigate. The company will reportedly recall the device to determine the cause of the problem.
