Samsung’s traditional launch cycle may look a little different as we head into early 2026. The company normally announces its Galaxy S series phones in early January or February, while A series smartphones launch in March. However, internal changes within the Galaxy S series have impacted this timeline.
Budget-Friendly Models Launching Earlier
As is known, Samsung was previously expected to introduce the S26 Edge instead of the S26 Plus. However, following the S25 Edge’s underperformance in sales, it was reported that the company completely canceled the S26 Edge project and brought the S26 Plus back to the lineup.

This last-minute maneuver pushed back the R&D schedule. Therefore, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch towards the end of February, instead of the usual early year window.
While the Galaxy S26 series may arrive later than usual, Samsung seems to be planning to fill this gap by bringing forward its budget and mid-range launches. A new leak suggests the entry-level Galaxy A07 5G could launch later this month or in early January 2026. This is an earlier date than previous entry-level Galaxy A0 series launches.
Even more interestingly, Samsung is also planning to launch the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 models ahead of their usual schedule. These two models typically appeared in March or April, but this time they are expected as early as February 2026. This change suggests Samsung is trying to maintain product momentum while adjusting its flagship schedule.
- The Galaxy A37 and A57 will bring incremental upgrades with new chipsets and the latest software. Both phones will ship with Android 16 out of the box.
- The Galaxy A57 is rumored to be powered by Samsung’s new Exynos 1680 processor and Xclipse 550 GPU. The Galaxy A37 will feature the Exynos 1480 chipset and Xclipse 530 GPU.
This strategic move by Samsung could help it manage the confusion in the flagship segment and strengthen its competitive position in the mid-range and entry-level markets in the first quarter of the year.
