Months of leaks about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series have pointed to one key change: the “floating camera rings” of previous models replaced by a single camera island, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This information, which had previously been merely rumored, has now been officially confirmed by Samsung itself.
Fold Series Aesthetics Carry Over to the S26
According to information spotted by Android Authority, rough sketches of the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra have been found hidden within the company’s One UI 8.5 test software. While not polished marketing images, they are sufficient to confirm the new look.

All three models in the series—codenamed M1 (S26), M2 (S26+), and M3 (S26 Ultra)—will feature a prominent, pill-shaped camera island with circular cutouts for each lens. This design language mirrors the aesthetic Samsung has used on the Galaxy Z Fold series since 2021 and represents a complete departure from the separate, floating camera lenses seen on the Galaxy S25 series.
These internal model labels also align with previous leaks suggesting that the entire series is part of Samsung’s “Miracle” project. The phones are expected to be the first to ship with One UI 8.5, based on Android 16, out of the box. Meanwhile, Galaxy S25 users are expected to have access to the One UI 8.5 beta in the second week of December.
If previous leaks are accurate, the S26 Ultra will have noticeably more rounded corners than its predecessor. This will bring the device closer to the rest of the lineup, while moving away from the sharp Note-style appearance of past Ultra models.
While the newly revealed images are crude, the source material is crucial. With Samsung’s own software now revealing the design, the guessing game is officially over: the Galaxy S26 family adopts a unified Fold-style aesthetic. Fans will continue to debate whether this design is bold or simply clunky — but either way, the device’s actual launch now feels much closer.
