Samsung continues to work on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which it plans to launch next year. According to recent leaks, the company may make significant hardware changes to its flagship model. In a prototype test conducted on the camera layout, it is stated that a triple system is used instead of the four rear cameras in previous models. It was also stated that the battery capacity of the device can be increased with the new battery technology.
Galaxy S26 Ultra is making changes to the camera and battery
According to the information shared, the prototype tested by Samsung will have three rear cameras. While it is not clearly stated which sensor has been removed, it is estimated that this change may be related to Samsung’s plan to bring back variable aperture technology.

Variable aperture was used in the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus models and offered more flexible camera performance according to different light conditions. Samsung can achieve more flexibility from a single sensor by developing this technology. In addition, there are claims that the company may switch to a 200 MP sensor in the periscope telephoto camera.
Another notable innovation about the device will be the improvements made in battery technology. It is stated that Samsung is testing the new generation cell technology and has exceeded the 5,500 mAh level. This technology will allow the battery to have a higher capacity with a layered structure.
Another development that stands out about the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the claims that the Bluetooth feature may return to the S Pen. The removal of this feature in the Galaxy S25 Ultra model disappointed users.
