Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra, expected to launch next year, will come with a small but noticeable increase in screen size. The device is said to feature a 6.89-inch AMOLED display, slightly larger than the 6.86-inch panel found on its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, this increase won’t primarily stem from a larger panel.
Galaxy S26 Ultra will have thinner bezels and a larger screen
To enlarge the display, Samsung is opting to slim down the bezels. As known, the S25 Ultra had a bezel thickness of 1.2 mm. On the S26 Ultra, this will be reduced to 1.15 mm. Despite this change, the phone’s overall width will remain at 77.6 mm.

The model’s screen will incorporate Samsung’s Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) OLED technology, also used in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This tech removes the traditional polarizer layer and replaces it with a color filter and a black pixel defining layer. As a result, the screen becomes thinner, brighter, and more power-efficient. Although the battery capacity won’t increase, battery life is expected to improve due to reduced power consumption.
No major design changes are expected for the overall appearance of the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung’s approach that prioritizes slimness will continue with this model. On the camera side, it will likely retain the same sensors used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with only software-level and lens-level improvements. A 200 MP 1/1.1-inch Sony sensor currently in testing is rumored to debut with the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
