Samsung’s long-rumored Galaxy TriFold is finally gearing up for release, but most of the world won’t get a shot at it. A new leak from Evan Blass reveals that the device’s rollout will be extremely limited, with only a few regions making the cut.
Galaxy TriFold won’t reach US or European buyers

Despite earlier buzz suggesting otherwise, the Galaxy TriFold won’t be heading to the US or Europe. According to Blass, Samsung plans to release the tri-fold phone in just five markets: South Korea, China, Singapore, Taiwan, and potentially the UAE.
That directly contradicts a CNN report that hinted at US availability. Now, it’s clear Samsung is playing things cautiously.
Galaxy TriFold reflects Samsung’s conservative playbook
This wouldn’t be the first time Samsung has had limited access to an experimental device. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE, for example, launched exclusively in South Korea and China. That same pattern is repeating with the TriFold, despite the global interest in next-gen foldables.
It’s worth noting: Huawei already beat Samsung to the tri-fold punch. But Huawei’s phones aren’t sold in the US either, so Samsung isn’t facing any local competition there, at least not yet.
Why such a limited Galaxy TriFold release?
Several reasons may explain Samsung’s move:
- Only 50,000 units are expected to be produced
- Concerns remain about market demand
- Uncertainty over user experience for the tri-fold format
- Rumored price tag near $3,000
- Risk of lukewarm reception in mass markets
With two hinges and a more tablet-like display layout, the Galaxy TriFold offers a unique take on foldable phones. Still, that novelty may not be enough to justify its cost or its complexity.
Galaxy TriFold could stay niche for years
US customers hoping to try Samsung’s new form factor will likely be left waiting. If history repeats itself, Samsung may take a few hardware generations before expanding availability. For now, the Galaxy TriFold feels more like a testbed than a mainstream release.
A bold step, but not for everyone
With a triple-folding screen and ambitious pricing, the Galaxy TriFold marks Samsung’s biggest shake-up since its first foldable in 2019. But as this rollout shows, even bold hardware sometimes stays behind closed doors.
